Giorgio Bertanza

Graduated in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Brescia in 1990. Ph. D. in Sanitary Engineering at the Technical University of Milan in 1996. His research activity was continued at the Engineering Faculty of the University of Brescia with a two months period research stage at the Institut für Thermische Verfahrenstechnik of the University of Clausthal (D). At present, he is Full Professor in Sanitary-Environmental Engineering (since march 2005) at the Department of Civil, Environmental, Architectural Engineering and Mathematics of the University of Brescia. Prof. Bertanza is author or co-author of 300+ scientific works (published on national or international journals, conference proceedings, books etc.: 70+ are indicized by Scopus) and participated (as author of accepted papers) at about 130 national and internatinal conferences. Prof. Bertanza is co-inventor of 7 patents. Prof. Bertanza is Secretary of Specialist Group on AOPs (Advanced Oxidation Processes) within IWA (International Water Association); furthermore, he is member of the International Programme Committee of specialised international conferences and is Associate Editor of Water Science and Technology for the topic Advanced Chemical Oxidation. He is vice-Director of his Department and Responsible for the Didactic acrivity.
