ECOMONDO RUN | Plogging in Rimini
On the occasion of Ecomondo 2025, plogging arrived in Rimini!
This activity combines physical movement with environmental care: running or walking while collecting litter along the way. A simple yet meaningful gesture that brings together athletes and environmental advocates in a shared action for sustainability.
The goal of ECOMONDO RUN was to extend environmental awareness beyond the boundaries of the expo halls, actively engaging both local residents and visitors. Participants were invited to take part in a tangible environmental action through a powerful yet accessible gesture.
The initiative created a moment of connection with the city and its surroundings, reinforcing Ecomondo’s commitment to raising awareness among professionals and citizens alike.

On November 7 and 8, 2025, the Spiaggia Libera in San Giuliano Mare hosted two days of plogging as part of the Ecomondo OFF program.
The initiative engaged 140 participants — including schools, citizens, Ecomondo visitors, but also runners — who collected 283 kg of waste, helping to prevent the emission of approximately 345 kg of CO₂ into the atmosphere. It was an experience of well-being, team building, and environmental awareness that inspired a new way to experience the local area.
The activity was promoted by Italian Exhibition Group, in collaboration with E.R.I.C.A. and FLUXO, with the patronage of the Municipality of Rimini and the support of Rimini Blue Lab, Marina di Rimini, and Gruppo Hera.
