Topics Covered in this edition

This 14th edition will focus on the theme:

"Green Economy: Leading the Future in Times of Crisis"

In the midst of a global ecological transition, Europe finds itself at a crossroads. While China accelerates the production of green technologies and the United States, under President Trump, slows its climate commitment, the European Union, questioning the effectiveness of the Green Deal, strives to stay on course toward a decarbonized, circular, and nature-positive economy.

This will be the focus of the 2025 Green Economy Status Report, which will be presented during the Opening Plenary Session on the morning of November 4. In addition to updates on strategic green economy issues in Italy, the report will offer reflections on the European green economy within the new global context, marked by growing geopolitical challenges and increased competition.

Perspectives, strategies, and policies of the green economy within the global debate—by governments, businesses, and the financial sector—will be the focus of the International Plenary Session on the morning of November 5.

Session agenda:

4 November | 11:15 – 13:00 | Opening Plenary Session | Sala Neri Hall Sud

Green economy: guiding the future in uncertain times
Presentation of the Report on the State of the Green Economy 2025 (italian session)

5 November | 10:00 – 13:00 | International Plenary Session | Sala Neri 1 Hall Sud

The green economy agenda in the new global scenario
This session will be held in English with simultaneous translation

Launched in 2012, the initiative has become a reference point for thousands of companies and has involved over 9,000 stakeholders between 2012 and 2023.

It is promoted by the Foundation for Sustainable Development and the National Council for the Green Economy, composed of 66 business organizations, in collaboration with the Ministry of Environment and Energy Security and under the patronage of the European Commission and the Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy.

The European Commission, in its 2017 and 2019 Environmental Implementation Review, included the Stati Generali della Green Economy and the National Council for the Green Economy among the measures supporting the transition to a circular economy and the green economy.

Each year, the event features the publication of the Report on the state of the Green Economy and two days of conferences and in-depth discussions in Rimini during Ecomondo.
