Event
The construction and infrastructure sector generates the largest quantities of waste produced in Europe and in Italy, accounting for almost 50% of all waste produced each year. This waste is mostly non-hazardous and, thanks to research and development investments by companies in the sector, it is recycled into products that meet the technical and environmental standards required by Europe and Italy.
This significant supply of ecological materials, as alternatives to those derived from extractive activities, does not always find a market response from public or private contracting authorities, thus causing serious storage problems for recovered aggregates, with the consequent risk of market blockage, including for the acceptance of waste at processing facilities due to the exhaustion of available space.
This conference brings together sector stakeholders, including waste producers, recyclers, public and private contracting authorities, product and procedure accreditation systems, and the MASE Directorate General for Product and Consumption Sustainability.
