ECOMONDO 2026
2026 EDITION THEME
Shades of Circularity
Ecomondo 2026’s communication and awareness project is dedicated to the Textile District, with the installation Shades of Circularity.
Colour is one of fashion’s most immediate forms of expression, conveying identity, creativity and change. Yet behind every colour, every fibre and every fabric lie resources, production processes and industrial choices, all with their own environmental impact.
With Shades of Circularity, Ecomondo, in collaboration with Gruppo Hera and SCART – The Beautiful Side of Waste, translates this complexity into an artistic expression. At the entrance to the exhibition, an extraordinary textile artwork welcomes visitors: a single image from afar, revealing a multitude of materials; patterns and textures up close, each with its own story to tell.
The installation invites visitors to look beyond the surface, reflect on the value of materials, the responsibility of the textile industry and explore new opportunities to rethink the life cycle of textile products.
From WEEE to textile: a renewed collaboration
Our collaboration with Gruppo Hera and its SCART project began in 2025 with "RAEE-START: Accendi il cambiamento" (WEEE-START: Switch on the change), a campaign dedicated to collecting small waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE). The initiative was organised in partnership with the WEEE Coordination Centre and the European Week for Waste Reduction (EWWR), collecting 30 kg of WEEE thanks to the participation of schools and visitors.

Seven colours, seven ways of looking at circularity. Responsibility, regeneration, innovation, sustainability, water, traceability and creativity.
Ecomondo as a hub for the textile industry
The installation is the first visible chapter of a much broader project.
Shades of Circularity is a statement of intent and the first step in a wider initiative. At its 29th edition, Ecomondo is expanding its focus on the textile industry, supporting the evolution of this strategic value chain through a growing exhibition offering, the involvement of artists and creatives, scientific and industrial debate and dialogue between businesses, institutions, research and new generations.
Talks, conferences and events not to be missed
The textile industry is evolving, and Ecomondo will offer a wide range of content as part of its conference program, covering everything from eco-design and EPR for recycling to end-of-life management and the Digital Product Passport, while exploring the key challenges and opportunities shaping a circular textile value chain.
