Event
With the publication of Directive (EU) 2025/1892, Member States finally have a regulatory framework of reference for designing and implementing, at national level by 17 April 2028, extended producer responsibility for textiles. The ministerial regulation establishing textile EPR in Italy as well, after several institutional steps, is in the home stretch. The workshop will provide, in a first (institutional) session, the reference framework with respect to the regulatory context. Two round tables will follow: the first aimed at stimulating an open discussion between institutions and Stakeholder along the supply chain on the design and challenges of implementing textile EPR, while the second will explore the operational and organisational implications for the entire supply chain, also in light of the imminent (May 2027) European restrictions on the export of unsorted textile fractions. In particular, some industrial strategies needed to optimise the management of volumes and prevent system saturation will be presented, analysing possible synergies between major commercial players, collective systems and social cooperation networks.
