Simona Fontana

General Manager of CONAI - Italian National Packaging Consortium 
 

With a degree in Economics of Public Administration and International Institutions and a Master's degree in Economics of Public Utilities from Bocconi University, she joined CONAI in 2008 as a senior analyst, after gaining experience in various research and consulting firms. Over the years, she expanded her activities to the field of packaging environmental impact prevention, taking on the role of technical secretary of the Prevention Working Group. In 2014, she became head of the Prevention Area, and in 2022, director of CONAI's Circular Economy Study Center, where she coordinates activities related to institutional projects, reporting, studies, and research on the circular economy, among other things. She oversees the development and promotion of tools for companies in the field of eco-design and the modulation of CONAI's environmental contribution, liaising with associations and ministries, as well as with the competent authorities. She has been CONAI's general manager since April 2024.
