Serenella Sala is Head of the Sustainable Supply Chains and Bioeconomy Unit at the European Commission’s Joint Research Centre. She leads research and policy support on sustainable resource use, supply chains, and the transition to a circular and bio-based economy. An environmental scientist with a PhD in Ecotoxicology and Applied Ecology, she is internationally recognised for her work on life cycle assessment and sustainability metrics, helping shape evidence-based policies for a more sustainable European economy.
