Event
The construction and infrastructure sector accounts for the largest share of waste generated in Europe and Italy, nearly 50% of the total produced each year. This waste is mostly non-hazardous and, thanks to investments in research and development by companies in the sector, it is recycled into products that meet the technical and environmental standards set by Europe and Italy.
However, this significant supply of ecological materials, which serve as alternatives to those derived from extractive activities, does not always find sufficient demand in the market from public or private contracting authorities. This results in serious storage issues for recovered aggregates, with the consequent risk of market disruption, including limitations in waste acceptance at treatment facilities due to the exhaustion of available space.
This conference brings together key stakeholders in the sector—waste producers, recyclers, public and private contracting authorities, product and process certification bodies, and the Ministry of Environment and Energy Security, Directorate-General for Product and Consumption Sustainability.
