Promote the transition to a circular and resource efficient economy creating a sustainable model from WEEE, preventing e-waste from polluting MED water. Interreg Euro-Med eWAsTER

Tulipano Room Hall B6

According to the EC e-waste monitoring 2020, electrical and electronic waste is growing three times faster than the average waste stream. In 2019, EC Decision 2019/2193 established a minimum collection rate of 65 % of all e-waste placed on the market in the preceding 3 years.

E-waste expose a high environmental risk for MED, affecting water sources aquifers and sea water. eWaster doesn’t present e-waste as a source of environmental damage, but an opportunity to create INNOVATIVE SUSTAINABLE ECONOMY through the valorisation of this waste.

EWaster aims to promote local and regional policies for better e-waste management, to reduce ewaste environmental damage in the selected areas, while promoting new innovative eco-business models based on the conversion of the currently lineal electrical and electronic (E&E) sector into a sustainable circular model.
