Event
The plastics industry is one of the strategic supply chains of the Italian production system, which growing geopolitical tensions risk compromising by altering global value chains. The European Commission's recent measures — the Clean Industrial Deal and the Omnibus Package — represent important steps in recovering industrial competitiveness, and the upcoming Chemical Industry Package will be a key opportunity to rebalance these compromised ambitions. Added to this is the recent entry into force, in February 2025, of the Regulation on Packaging and Packaging Waste and the long-awaited Circular Economy Act, which aims to build a new action plan on the circular economy by strengthening measures to accelerate Europe's transition to a resource-efficient economy, including addressing the price gap between virgin and recycled materials, which represents one of the major obstacles to the allocation of recycled materials.
The day provides an opportunity for key industry players to discuss new regulatory provisions.
