Event
Quarrying is a key sector for a country like Italy, because it involves important industrial sectors, such as construction, but also environmental aspects, land and landscape use and management. Establishing a sustainable connection between these two worlds, too often considered opposites, means addressing the needs of key sectors of the Italian economy, such as construction and infrastructure, sensitive issues such as environmental impact, and historical and cultural aspects related to the most renowned Made in Italy products worldwide.
A serious and decisive push towards the circular economy, still over-theorized and under-applied, cannot ignore the opportunities showed by materials recovery and recycling; just think of those countries where these processes are most advanced and how the extraction of quarry materials is being drastically reduced, while simultaneously boosting research and experimentation and, consequently, creating quality jobs.
