Digital Product Passports for circular industries: from policy to implementation

The Digital Product Passport (DPP) is becoming a cornerstone of the European transition towards a circular, transparent and sustainable economy. While regulatory requirements are rapidly evolving, industries face significant challenges in transforming data into trustworthy, interoperable and actionable information across complex value chains. The session will bring together representatives from industry, research, policy, standardization organizations and digital solution providers to discuss: 

• The evolving European DPP landscape; 

• The role of data spaces and interoperability in DPP implementation; 

• Lessons learned from sectors; 

• The contribution of standards to scalable DPP deployment; 

• Practical experiences in measuring sustainability and circularity performance. 

The event will include a closing poster session where researchers will showcase the results of their experience on data spaces for DPP; DPP sectoral application, with a focus on bio-based industries; circularity measurement.

During the poster session the vision and achievements of the bi0SpaCE project, which is developing a new generation of Industry 4.0-enhanced Digital Product Passports connected to a Circular Economy Dataspace will be showcased. The project aims to enable secure sharing of sustainability and circularity information, support traceability of bio-based products, enhance transparency of environmental claims, and foster interoperability through standards and common frameworks.

The event will close with a networking aperitif.
