Event
On 26 February 2025, the European Commission launched the Clean Industrial Deal: a joint roadmap for competitiveness and decarbonisation that includes the strengthening of circularity as a fundamental tool for creating a new European industrial model. A regulatory act is expected to be issued in 2026, aimed at harmonising end of waste criteria in order to facilitate the transition from waste to secondary raw materials, to simplify, digitise and specifically expand extended producer responsibility, stimulating demand through specific criteria for public procurement.
Among the aspects of primary importance, in the field of sustainability and circularity, there are, moreover, the principles of ecodesign, for the design of products that are more durable and easier to manage once they become waste to increase their recyclability or renewability.
The day intends to start with an analysis of the state of the art to address, with the main players in the sector, the issues that today represent the main factors holding back the full development of circularity.
