Simone Manfredi, born in Italy in 1981, obtained his Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering at the Technical University of Denmark. He then joined the European Commission (EC) Joint Research Centre (JRC) in 2009, where he leads the development of the Raw Materials Information System (RMIS), the EC's reference knowledge platform on sustainable raw material supply and value chains. Beyond raw materials, key areas of expertise include waste management, life cycle based analyses, sustainable consumption and production, circular economy.
