Biography

Rinaldo Rinaldi is an Associate Professor of Operations and Supply Chain Management at the University of Florence, where he teaches Supply Chain Management and Industrial Production Management. He is the founder and scientific director of DigitForFashion_Lab, a laboratory dedicated to the study of digital transformation, sustainability and traceability in fashion and luxury supply chains, and Scientific Director of e-P Summit, the Pitti Immagine event dedicated to digital innovation in fashion. For over twenty years he has collaborated with major companies in the sector, developing research and innovation projects in the areas of production planning, logistics process optimization, circular economy and digital traceability. His activity focuses in particular on the integration between physical processes and data along the value chain, through technologies such as RFID, BLE, IoT, blockchain and collaborative platforms. In recent years he has deepened the role of the Digital Product Passport as an infrastructure to make product information required by the ESPR accessible, interoperable and reliable. His interests concern both the technological and organizational aspects necessary to build end-to-end traceability, and the ability of companies to transform supply chain data into tools for compliance, transparency, operational efficiency and value creation. His academic and professional activity aims to connect the rigor of management engineering with the specificities of creative industries and textile supply chains.
