Quintilio Napoleoni

Biography

Quintilio Napoleoni is a Researcher and Aggregate Professor of Geotechnics for the Environment and Territory and of Design of Interventions for Hydrogeological Risk Mitigation at Sapienza University of Rome. An expert in environmental geotechnics and slope stability, he carries out research, design and consultancy activities with particular reference to reinforced earth structures and the use of geosynthetics, nature-based engineering, landfill design and contaminated site remediation. He has also gained significant experience in the design of large excavations in urban environments, in soil-structure interaction issues, and in infrastructure and maritime works. Author of over 85 scientific articles and reports, he has collaborated with ANPA (now ISPRA) on contaminated sites of national interest and has been a member of technical-scientific bodies in the field of hydrogeological risk. He is an expert member of the III Section of the Superior Council of Public Works and Technical Director of the engineering firm E&G S.r.l. He is also a member of Technical Advisory Committees for the management of public contracts and a member of AGI, IGS, ISSMGE and SIG.
