Martino Colonna is a university professor of Sustainable Materials Chemistry and Sport Engineering at the University of Bologna and carries out his research activity in the field of recycling and design-for-recycling of multi-component materials that cannot be recycled using traditional methods. He is the founder and CEO of RE-SPORT, a spin-off of the University of Bologna that focuses on developing and industrialising recycling processes for sports equipment and multi-material fabrics. He has been the scientific coordinator of 4 LIFE projects on the recycling of ski boots (LIFE RE-SKIBOOT), outdoor shoes (LIFE RE-SHOES), motorcycle helmets (LIFE IMPACTO) and skis (LIFE RE-WINTER). He is the author of 90 scientific articles published in international journals, 4 books and 30 international patents.
