Lucia Leonessi

Biography

Born in Arezzo, graduated in Italian Language and Literature from the University of Siena, Lucia Leonessi has been registered with the Order of Journalists, Professional Register, since 1991. She worked for 30 years as a professional journalist for television broadcasters (RAI, Odeon TV), magazines (Particelle, L'Italia settimanale) and national daily newspapers (Corriere della Sera, Libero, L'Opinione delle Libertà), and managed communication campaigns for several companies (SAIMA Spa, Gruppo Inghirami, CEPU, Cose di Lana, Castello di Sorci). In 2010, following a PhD in Criminology from LUDES University in Lugano (CH), she served as an official at the Regional Council of Lombardy. In 2013 she founded Studio Parker, dedicated to corporate, generational and environmental issues. She obtained the qualification for the role of Administrator of National Social Security Institutions at the Faculty of Economics of La Sapienza in the Academic Year 2018/2019 (pursuant to Ministerial Decree 79/07). Lucia Leonessi has been the General Director of Cisambiente Confindustria since she co-founded it with 11 industrialists from the environmental sector in 2016. Since 2016 she has also been a member of the Scientific Committee of Ecomondo and is an active member of the Technical Groups of Confitarma. Since 2020 she has been a Member of the Board of Directors of Previambiente – National Pension Fund for Workers in the Environmental Hygiene sector and related sectors. Since 2021 she has been a Member of the National Executive Committee of UNI (Italian Standards Body). Since February 2024 she has been a Member of the Board of Directors of Pagano Lighting Holding. Since January 2025 she has been a Councillor of the Administrative Committee of the Bilateral Solidarity Fund for Income Support of Personnel in the Environmental Services Sector of INPS. Since February 2025 she has been the Sole Member representing the private employer side of the Italian Delegation to the European Commission for the drafting work of the BREF on Landfills.
