He has worked for the United Nations and other public and private international organizations as a programme manager. Since the 1990s, he has been a promoter of the ethical finance movement and has led microfinance and social finance organizations. He has served as Vice President of FEBEA (European Federation of Ethical and Alternative Banks). He is the author of numerous publications on sustainable finance and international cooperation; on the same topics, he has held teaching positions at Italian and foreign universities. He holds a PhD in Political and Economic Geography from the University of Padova.
