Davide Aloini

Biography

Davide Aloini is Full Professor of Business Process Management, Process Analytics and Project Management at the Department of Energy, Systems, Territory and Construction Engineering (DESTEC) of the University of Pisa. His research activity focuses on business process management, data-driven process management and decision support systems, with particular attention to manufacturing, logistics and service systems. A significant part of his research is dedicated to sustainability and circular economy, with studies on closed-loop supply chain models, on the drivers and enabling factors of circularity, and on the role of actors and logistics intermediaries in the transition towards more sustainable production systems. More recently, his activity has focused on the analysis and modelling of circular value chains, on the assessment of their environmental and operational performance, and on the integration of data-driven approaches to support the sustainable transition. He is the author of over 100 scientific publications and has participated in numerous European, national and industry-funded research projects. He has also served as the unit coordinator of the University of Pisa in several European projects on the topics of circular economy, decarbonisation and sustainable logistics.
