Antonino Biundo obtained his Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Industrial Biotechnology at the University of Palermo. He subsequently earned a PhD at BOKU University in Vienna with a study on the enzymatic degradation of plastics. He won a postdoctoral research grant at KTH in Stockholm for the synthesis of polymers from forest supply chain waste, and subsequently won a Marie Curie Postdoctoral Fellowship at the University of Bari Aldo Moro with the REWIND project for the enzymatic valorisation of exhausted vegetable oils for the plastics sector. In Puglia, he founded the company REWOW srl and, since 2024, he has been Head of Research, Development and Innovation at the company Greenoil srl.
