Alessandro Delpiano

Born in 1969, he graduated in Civil Engineering from the University of Bologna. Appointed Secretary General of the District River Basin Authority of the Po River in March 2026, he served as Director of the Territorial Planning Area of the Metropolitan City of Bologna, coordinator of the Bologna Metropolitan Strategic Plan, and technical coordinator of the Railway Node Committee. He has acted as general manager of various European projects, carried out teaching activities at renowned national and international universities, and provided consultancy services for the Technical Mission Structure of the Ministry of Infrastructure and numerous national and local institutions. He has been a member of the National Council of the National Institute of Urban Planning and also of the Executive Board of the Italian Society of Transport Policies, as well as author and editor of numerous publications in specialist journals and books and in popular press.
