Sergio Ponsá Salas

Dr Sergio Ponsá is Director of the BETA Technology Center (Spain). An environmental engineer with a PhD in Environmental Sciences, he brings extensive leadership experience in circular economy, sustainability, resource recovery, waste valorisation, water and climate action. He has coordinated or participated in more than 40 international R&D projects and around 60 national projects, published more than 60 peer-reviewed papers, and contributed to high-level international forums. His profile combines strategic support to policy makers with the co-development of technological solutions in close collaboration with the private sector. He is also strongly focused on accelerating the adoption of innovative practices and technologies, bridging research and market application through business development, value proposition design and innovation deployment. This combination of scientific leadership, policy engagement and market-oriented innovation makes him a highly relevant contributor to Ecomondo’s mission as a leading international platform for green technologies and ecological transition.
