Evento
Directive (EU) 2024/1785 also intervened in Directive 1999/31/EC on the landfill of waste by removing the provision that to date allowed the recognition of the requirements set out in Directive 1999/31/EC as industry BAT. The adoption of BAT conclusions for landfills under Directive 2010/75/EU is expected to allow the main environmental issues related to the operation of waste landfills, including methane emissions, to be addressed. Therefore, in connection with the start of preparatory work at the European level, for the definition of new landfill BAT, we discuss this with some industry contacts.
