BlueMissionMed: Strengthening the EU Mission Ocean and Waters in the Mediterranean

The event marks the official launch of the annual Mediterranean Lighthouse initiative of the EU Mission "Restore our Ocean and Waters by 2030", with a particular focus on actions taken in the current political context of the Mediterranean. The session includes: an impactful opening video, high-level institutional speeches from the European Commission, the presentation of the BlueMissionMed CSA for the Mediterranean Lighthouse, and key messages from main partners.

The meeting will set the tone for the entire week, celebrating cooperation and innovation in the Mediterranean and inviting participants to contribute to the Mission's objectives.
The session will conclude with a forward-looking call to action, highlighting how the Mediterranean Lighthouse contributes to shaping key European and regional policy frameworks, including the upcoming European Ocean Pact and the New Mediterranean Pact, as well as presenting the main activities of the week in support of their implementation.
